Onescreener SEO upgrade: Customized description

Are you worried that the description you've chosen while creating your page isn't accurate enough, and you'd like to improve it? Now you can! And it's an easy fix.

Onescreener gives you plenty of options to prepare your page to be better found in search engines like Google, and now you can also add an SEO description for your website, and modify it at any time.

But hold on, what is SEO? How can you optimize your Onescreener page for it? Why do you need it? I will explain all the details in this blog post, so get ready to take some notes!

What is SEO?

SEO is the art and science of persuading search engines such as Google and Yahoo to recommend your content to their users as the best solution to their problem when they are searching for something.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. Sounds tricky to you? Don’t worry, allow me to break down this concept.

“The practice of increasing the quality of traffic”

The more detailed information you have on your website the more chances of attracting visitors who are genuinely interested in the content that you offer, whether it’s a service, a product or a piece of content.

“The practice of increasing the quantity of traffic”

The quantity of traffic is the quantity of visitors clicking on your page. The more traffic (clicks) that you generate, the better it is for your website ranking and appearance in Google search results.

“Through organic search engine results”

And finally, this means getting traffic without investing in ads. Organic traffic is any traffic that you don’t have to pay for.

How can I optimize my Onescreener page?

The content you add to your Onescreener page, and how you present it, plays a big role in how easily people are able to find you on Google. To ensure your Promo Page is optimized for search engines and visitors alike, you have to:

Add a site title

Even if you're using a logo or a name on your Promo Page, you should add a site title so that the text may be indexed/noticed by search engines. We recommend you keep the title short (under 60 characters) and include one or more keywords.

This is where you can find it:

Tap on the menu, go to Page Settings, and change the title.

Add a site description

Add a short (50-300 characters), relevant and readable description of your site to your SEO site description. This text may appear below your site title in search results, depending on what your visitors search for.

This is where you can find it:

Tap on the menu, go to Page Settings, and add description.

Custom domain

Using a custom domain (rather than the built-in Onescreener subdomain/URL) strengthens your brand and makes it easier for potential customers to find you in search results.

With Onescreener Premium, you can choose your own domain from our platform without an extra charge.

Connect to social media

Set up your icons to link to your social media profiles, push content as you publish it, and encourage people to share your pages!

Go to Content, Icons, and add the links to your icons.

Add a Fav Icon

Your site's browser icon, or favicon, gives visibility to your site's brand. The icon may appear in search results, browser tabs, and elsewhere on the web.

Tap on Menu, go to Page Settings, and upload your logo.

Add your location

Your site has a better chance of appearing in searches for your area if Google and your customers can see your location. If you have a business with a physical location, we recommend you add the location icon (you can add more than one).

Add a Text icon

The Text icon is crucial for your SEO settings. Here you can talk more about yourself, your site, or your content/product/service. This will also help you reach people who might be interested in your content.

Why do I need it?

You need it to be more visible in the digital world, and to reach potential consumers or visitors that are likely interested in what you have to offer. If you ask me, you need it as much as old shops need attractive and creative window displays that make people want to enter their shop doors.

So there you have it, creators. Go and optimize your pages! If you have any doubt, you can always write to us at support@onescreener.com.

Keep on creating and improving! 💚
